Curtis S. Dow
Vice President
Curtis is a senior project management professional and Vice President
of Cordjia Capital Projects Group with over 25 years experience specializing in
consulting, facilities management, program and project management, and design in
the building industry. Mr. Dow attended the University of Maine at Orono where
he studied Civil Engineering. He is a member of the Project Management
Institute and Construction Specification Institute.
Mr. Dow has managed the successful delivery of numerous projects ranging from
$0.5M to $100M in construction value. He has been responsible for managing the
design, procurement, contracting, construction, and post construction phase
activities. He has also been responsible for the management of staff and
contractors to ensure the project scope is constructed, as awarded, in full
conformance with the plans, specifications, and schedule within the budgeted
cost.
Mr. Dow coordinates, plans, organizes, and directs all activities required to
achieve successful project completion. He coordinates the issuing of plans and
specifications for bid, which includes reviewing plans for constructability and
working with the architectural and engineering teams to complete the bid
document packages. Mr. Dow reviews the contractor’s schedule, monitors the
progress, reviews contractor/owner delays to ensure that the project remains on
track and achieves the contractual completion date. He is responsible for
reviewing contractor change order requests for merit and estimating, and
negotiating the change orders with contractors. He manages the consultant team
to achieve timely and accurate responses and leads coordination meetings to
resolve potential delay issues in advance with the architect, contractors, and
vendors.
Mr. Dow has managed the delivery of projects totaling over 4.5 million square
feet with a total development cost of over $1 billion in North America, Europe
and Asia. Working with strategic partners, Mr. Dow deploys and monitors best
practices in risk management methodologies, innovative design management tools,
and project control processes.
Prior to being a senior project director and Vice President of Cordjia
Capital Projects Group, Mr. Dow was a founding member and Senior Vice President
of Buck Consulting Group over a four-year period. Over the ten year period
prior to this, Mr. Dow held several senior management positions and was a
primary team member in the delivery of projects with his last assignment as a
Vice President in the International Design & Development department of a Fortune
100 company.
